Finally something positive has come out of the newest round of safety regulations following the attempted bombings in England involving some kind of liquid explosive - it's actually faster to get on and off planes these days. The reason? No one can carry anything with them on the plane, which means less time waiting for other passengers to get their bags in and out of the overhead compartments. The Washington Post reports that airlines are seeing at least a five minute difference in the time it takes to get passengers on and off the plane but they've also seen a 20% increase in the number of checked bags due to the most recent restrictions. No big deal, unless yours is one of those 6 out of 1000 that the airlines lose on average.
